Congratulations to Marley Messer from Suwannee Pineview Elementary School for winning this year’s Future Chef District Competition for the Suwannee County School District.
Marley, our only first-grade finalist, impressed the judges with her Thai Spring Rolls. Her dish was creative, unique, and beautifully introduced a different culture to the competition. For a first grader to demonstrate that level of thoughtfulness and originality is remarkable. Marley, we are so proud of you!
Thank you again to all of our students, families, staff, and supporters who make opportunities like this possible. The future is bright and clearly delicious!

National Public Schools Week, celebrated February 23 – 27, 2026, is a time to celebrate the incredible work happening every day in classrooms across the Suwannee County School District and all Florida school districts. Public schools are the clear choice for Florida families, with 85% of parents choosing Florida public schools and public charter schools to educate their children — and that is something to proudly celebrate!
Today, a high school diploma from a Florida public school is so much more than a milestone — it is a launchpad to success. Public schools offer unmatched choice and flexibility, preparing students for college, careers, and civic life through personalized learning pathways that meet students where they are and help them soar, while building local and state talent pipelines. From inspiring lessons to meaningful connections, public schools are where students discover their talents, pursue their dreams, and build bright futures.
Here in Suwannee County, that success story comes to life every day for our students through educational offerings and career pathways including:
• Acceleration pathways (AP) and dual enrollment opportunities
• Robust Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways at the middle and high school levels, connecting classroom learning to real-world skills and industry needs
• Postsecondary workforce training through RIVEROAK Technical College, offering hands-on programs, industry certifications, and direct access to high-wage, high-skill careers
• A wide array of extracurricular activities that build leadership, teamwork, and confidence
• Strong early learning foundations, with high-quality Pre-VPK, VPK, and Kindergarten programs that prepare students for long-term academic success
• A student-centered approach to education, emphasizing academic achievement, leadership development, and opportunities that support lifelong success
