At 9:46 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, Suwannee Middle School (SMS) received an anonymous tip of a firearm on campus.
Out of an abundance of caution, SMS and all other SCSD schools in the area went into an immediate lockdown.
The SMS campus was throughly swept and found the claim to be invalid and no imminent threat was on campus.
Following a complete check of the campus, SMS and all other SCSD schools resumed normal operations.
