Suwannee County Schools, in conjunction with the Florida Association of District School Superintendents (FADSS), is pleased to announce the launch of Florida’s Future: Powered by Public Schools Communications Initiative. This coordinated, statewide effort will elevate public awareness of the value and positive impact of Florida’s public schools under the unifying theme: Florida’s Future: Powered by Public Schools.
We know that every Florida school district achieves remarkable outcomes daily — whether through student achievements, innovative programs, or community partnerships — yet these stories often remain isolated within individual districts. This campaign will highlight our school district and school successes, innovations, and achievements, alongside the diverse school choice options we offer that can only be found in Florida public schools.
The recent announcement of the historic, record-breaking 92.2% high school graduation rates for the 2024-25 school year is a prime example of how Florida’s Future is Powered by Public Schools.
This campaign will delve into the programs, people, and positive outcomes resulting from the hard work of our dedicated students, teachers, administrators, school staff, volunteers, and community partnerships, and celebrate those successes.
By uniting around shared messaging and amplifying local success stories, school districts will reinforce the value of Florida’s public schools and showcase how Florida’s Future Is Powered by Public Schools.

We are proud to celebrate Avery Finch, a 7th grade student at Branford High School, whose artwork has been selected for the Art in the Capitol Competition, a statewide visual arts competition for Florida students in grades 6–8.
Avery’s piece, titled “That Girl,” will be displayed at the Florida Capitol during the 2026 legislative session beginning January 13.
Avery has been drawing for as long as she can remember and enjoys working with mixed media and landscapes. For this piece, she found inspiration by scrolling through her camera roll and created a self-portrait of herself in church.
Congratulations, Avery! We are incredibly proud of your talent and creativity. Keep up the amazing work!

The Suwannee County School Board Regular Meeting began with student remarks and pledge to the flag by members of the Suwannee Riverside Elementary student council.
Student council members updated the board on recent projects they’ve completed on campus and handed out sweet treats to those in attendance.
Thank you to these young leaders for representing Riverside with pride!
